On the day of the interview, Joni Kantonen shared that he has been working at Arnon for 4.17 years. Such precision is rare, so it’s no wonder his tasks include scheduling and monitoring production.

Joni started at Arnon as a warehouse worker, gaining firsthand experience with the company’s material flows. Gradually, this skilled and proactive employee took on additional responsibilities. When the previous production planner transitioned to another role, they suggested Joni as their replacement.

– I don’t yet have a formal educational background for the role of production planner. I’ve continuously learned on the job, either from colleagues or by researching information online, which is a method I enjoy, Joni explains.

Joni particularly appreciates the understanding and support from his supervisors and colleagues. He has felt comfortable asking any question, even if it needed to be repeated several times.

In a few years, Joni will also have formal qualifications for the role: at the beginning of 2025, he started pursuing a four-year logistics engineering degree through a blended learning program at Jyväskylä University of Applied Sciences. His educational background already includes two vocational qualifications in logistics: truck driving and internal logistics.

What Joni values most about his work is the freedom. He can complete tasks in the way he deems best. He also praises the positive culture, where compliments are not in short supply. The work atmosphere is friendly and warm. And, of course, the colleagues.

– I haven’t yet met anyone at Arnon I wouldn’t be happy to chat with or resolve an issue together, Joni says.

He is very content at Arnon and would confidently recommend the company as an employer to anyone interested in working there.

– I think Arnon is a great employer. I’ve never had any issues, and I find my employment flexible and beneficial for me. The work isn’t always straightforward, and sometimes we deal with challenging complexities. However, I look forward to coming to work every day.

In his free time, Joni spends a lot of time outdoors with his two mixed-breed dogs, walking, running, or biking. He also enjoys playing various tug, search, or running games with them. Additionally, he plays board and video games with his wife, family, and friends.

What about the future?
– I hope the future stays pretty much the same as the present: just as interesting and free, allowing me to do and learn what I enjoy both at work and during my free time. I don’t feel the need for major changes in my daily life.
